We made it!

Here we are! Had a long day of traveling yesterday. Plane was delayed, followed by a long bus ride. However, we got up early and went to the hospital to set up our supplies and clinic. Then we spent our free day by the beach. They dont eat supper until 8pm so we are fixing to go do that and enjoy a 10pm show put on by the locals! OR all day tomorrow! Til next time........

Day before departure

I cant believe it is finally time to go. I am so excited. DJ is joining the group this year. What a great feeling to share this with him. I hope to maybe take John another year. THe duffel bag is so over weight limit. I barely got it in the car.  We will see what happens at the airport in the AM.

Packing!

Although our trip is over a month away, the packing starts way before the trip! Besides packing our clothes and all our sterile supplies, scrubs, etc. most of our suitcase is filled with items for the children and the Dominican people. People have already donated reader glasses for our eye clinic. Within the next few weeks we will purchase coloring books, candy, toothbrushes (as the kids requested these last year), small toys, and whatever else we can fit in our bags. This is going to be another amazing trip!

Getting ready for the DR

It is approx 6 weeks to take off for Renee and Beth to Samana, Dominican Republic. Our second annual journey for a medical mission. This year we are being joined by my younger son, DJ, and a fellow Tech Stephanie. We are getting excited and looking forward to the trip. We are in the process of getting our sterile supplies together. Shipped a 40 lb box of stuff to DJ last week.
